G Hotel Penang, Malaysia

Review

Right next to Gurney Plaza Mall, this hotel is a convenient place to stay. It's a short taxi or bus ride to the beach at Batu Ferringi or Georgetown. I didn't eat at the restaurant much, but breakfast was ok. A variety if western and local dishes. The staff was very helpful and our room was clean. We stayed in an executive suite (we were upgraded from the room I booked) and it was very nice. The executive lounge is a nice place to relax at the end of the day as well.

A2 Resort Phuket

Review

We very much enjoyed our stay at the A2 Hotel & Resort. The facility was very nice, as was, the hotel staff. The pool access rooms are very nice. It was enjoyable to view the pool and water feature from the patio. Without having a car, taxi was the only means of transportation. The bypass road is very busy. It was not possible to walk to shopping other than to a 7 - 11 store. There is an ATM fairly close. The restaurant food was good and simple. Some buffet items were very spicy,

  • By stairs: You can access the first and second levels of the tower (187 and 377 ft., respectively) by climbing 1,652 stairs. There is a small admission fee. Visitors with vertigo should abstain.

  • By elevator: Three elevators are available to shuttle you to the first and second levels of the tower. For security reasons, only one or two will be operating on a given day.
